Nova Scotia Express Entry Immigration Stream Reopens, Closes within Hours

In the early hours of July 5th, a popular immigration stream was reopened by the Canadian province of Nova Scotia in the form of Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry.

By way of this stream, candidates who are eligible in the Express Entry pool can also apply for the provincial nomination by way of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), which is one of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs) run by Canada.

The popularity of this program can be seen from the fact that the intake period closed within hours after its opening on July 5th. As has been indicated by the most recent intake period, this program gets closed within hours of its opening, just like the way it has happened on most previous occasions.

It is expected that this new stream will open up in the next few months also and than in the next year. This will be beneficial for numerous candidates in the pool who have prepared for it in advance.

By way of the Category B of the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream, candidates that are in the Express Entry stream and have the required experience in any of the given 'opportunity' occupations can submit their applications.

It is not required to have a job offer for this category.

This Express Entry-aligned stream is an enhanced one. Applicants who are successful receive an additional of 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and consequently it will be easy for them to receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) and will become the permanent resident of Canada soon.

The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream is among the few left immigration programs run by Canada that works on first-come, first-served basis. It is worth noting here that, in recent years the popularity of Nova Scotia has increased considerably.

Eligibility Requirement

Candidates in the Express Entry pool who want to apply for Category B of the Nova Scotia should have:

·         Have a minimum of one year of full time work experience
·         Should demonstrate proficiency in English or French
·         Have their foreign educational certificates assessed
