The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program Announces Details

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program – one of the most exciting immigration program from Canada, has come out with its details. Nearly 2,000 aspiring immigrants can submit their application for becoming a permanent resident of Canada in 2017 under this program.

This pilot program will be open for a period of 3 years and the provinces that are involved in this program includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.

The announcement for this program was first made on July 2, 2016, and it forms part of the Atlantic Growth Strategy. However, it was only on January 27, 2017 that the full details of the program have come out.

Aspiring immigrants can submit their application from March, 2017. The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program has been created with the objective of improving the process of settlement for new comers.

It make sure that the immigrants who are coming to the country are employed by a designated employer and have a clear cut settlement program for the main applicant and his or her family, if possible.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program can be divided into three categories:

·         The Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP) – It targets international graduates that are enrolled in post-secondary study programs that have duration of at least 2 years. Applicants in this category are also supposed to have a job offer.

·         The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP) – This program is for those people who have a qualifying job offer (full time in nature) of intermediate duration in a position at level A, B, C, 0 of the National Occupation Classification and

·         The Atlantic High Skilled Program (AHSP) – This program is for those people who have a qualifying job offer for duration of one year and that is full time in nature. This employment should be in the classification at level 0, A, or B in NOC.

Employers who want to give employment to international people need to be screened by the province. It is only than they are eligible to employ immigrants.
