Alberta Reaches Nomination Allocation for the Year 2017

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, one of the Provincial Nominee Programs from Canada has reached its maximum allocation limit for 2017 of 5,500 nomination certificates.

According to AINP, all the applications that have been submitted already will be processed, however, no more certificates will be given out till 2018.

It has been told by AINP that till December 4th, more than 3,050 applications were in the line for processing and assessing.

Experts are of the view that Alberta will get benefit from the higher allocations for the year 2018 due to the multi-year immigration plan announced by the federal government on November 1st.

As per plans from the federal government, the target for Provincial Nominee Program has been increased for 2018 to 55,000. This number is 8% more than the target which was set by the government  for the year 2017 of 51,000.

Alberta can send nomination to prospective immigrants through the AINP, with experience and skills that fulfill labor market demands of the province. Alberta is the largest producer of oil and gas products in the country.

2018 will have New Express Entry Stream

Two new provincial nomination streams will be introduced by Alberta in the coming year 2018 – The Alberta Express Entry Stream and the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream will be a combination of the present Employer-Driven Stream and the Strategic Recruitment Stream and 11 sub-categories. All this will be consolidated into one set of eligibility criteria.

A limited number of candidates will be nominated by the AINP under the Alberta Express Entry Stream from the Express Entry pool of the federal government. The federal government includes candidates in three economic immigration classes – the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Express Entry candidates who are nominated under the Alberta Express Entry Stream get an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System which greatly improves their chance to receive the Invitation to Apply in the subsequent Express Entry draw.

2,750 Candidates Invited in November 15th Express Entry Draw

A total of 2,750 candidates have been invited by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in the Express Entry draw that was held on November 15th. The invited candidates will now have to apply for permanent residency for Canada.

The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the candidate who was sent the Invitation to Apply (ITA) stood at 439.

All candidates who had scored 439 and above were invited to apply. In case there were more than one candidates who obtained the same score were selected as per the date on which they submitted their profile in the Express Entry pool.

For the November 15th draw, candidates who had submitted their profile before October 19th, 2017, at 12:02:28 UTC, were picked up in case there was a tie up.

The CRS score of this Express Entry draw was 19 points lower as compared to the draw that took place last week, which stood at 458 points.

In the past three weeks, this is the fourth Express Entry draw that has taken place. A trend like this had only happened only once before the introduction of Express Entry.

Recently, Canada made announcement of its immigration plans for the next three years. More number of Express Entry draws may result in more number of ITAs being issued and the CRS cut-off score getting lower. This will result as the candidates with higher scores are being picked up during draws.

In the announcement made on Immigration Levels Plan, Canada has set up the target to bring in almost one million new immigrants to the country in the next 3 years between 2018 and 2020.

It has been detailed that 250,000 of these new immigrants will come through different Express Entry programs, such as the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The number of immigrants that will come to the country will increase year after year.

The November 15th Express Entry draw was the 78th draw that has taken place ever since the new immigration system was brought into effect on January 1st, 2015.

October 4th Express Entry draw invited a total of 2,801 candidates to apply for permanent residency of Canada with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The cut-off for the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points stood at 438.

Candidates in the pool who had scored 438 or more CRS points were issued the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for this Express Entry draw.

The October 4th Express Entry draw has been the 23rd one to have taken place in this year. It has happened as we enter the final quarter of 2017. A total of 72,221 ITAs have been issued so far this year.

This number is much more than the ITAs that were issued in the past 2 years since it was first introduced in January 2017. In the first 23 draws of 2016 a total of 25,982 ITAs were issued which is less than half of what has been issued in this year till now.

There has been a slight increase in the CRS cut-off threshold in this Express Entry draw as compared to the previous draw which was held on September 20th. It should be noted here that this threshold is still lower than the lowest threshold of 2016.

Aspiring immigrants who want to settle permanently in Canada need to enter the Express Entry pool and obtain a CRS score. They are required to be eligible in one of the economic immigration programs:

·         The Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
·         The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or
·         The Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)

The lowest ever CRS threshold was 413 on the May 13 Express Entry draw.

Saskatchewan Increased Intake Number for Famous Immigration Sub-categories

The Saskatchewan province of Canada has increased the number of annual intake of application for two of its famous immigration programs of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

It is expected that more application will be accepted before the end of the year 2017.

the number of allocations has been increased in International Skilled Worker – Express Entry sub-category of SINP and the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.

These programs were first launched in 2015 and both of them have turned out to be popular among a wide range of aspiring immigrants. An applicant is not required to have a job offer from a Canadian employer for any of these sub-categories.

An applicant once selected is issued a provincial nomination, which can be used to apply for Canadian permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The primary applicant can also include the spouse / common-law partner as well as dependent children in the application submitted.

The applicant is however, required to have work experience in any of the occupation that is in demand to apply for any of the sub-category. A minimum score of at least 60 points is required out of 100 points on the SINP assessment grid.

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category enables applicants in receiving nomination certificate, which they can use to apply for permanent residence of Canada outside the Express Entry immigration system that is run by the federal government of Canada.

This stream can become very useful to those people who have not yet come in the Express Entry pool. The language requirement of this immigration stream is lower when compared with any program that runs under the Express Entry immigration system.

Candidates are required to have an Express Entry profile in order to apply for any of the sub-category of Express Entry immigration system.

A successful candidate receives 600 additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This takes them at the front of the line for the upcoming draw from the Express Entry pool.

2,991 Candidates Invited on August 9 Express Entry Draw

The August 9nd Express Entry draw is the second one in the month of August. A total of 2,991 candidates were picked up from the pool and were sent the Invitation to Apply (ITA). These people will now be in a position to apply for permanent residency of Canada.

The cut-off for the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score stood at 433 points. The invited candidates have now moved a step closer to become the permanent resident of Canada, along with their spouse or common-law-partner as well as dependent children.

It is expected that complete applications that are submitted will be processed by IRCC within the next six months.

The three past draws that occurred since those progressions happened all had a CRS cut-off edge in the 440's. The way that the most recent draw took after rapidly after the past draw, which occurred precisely seven days back on August 2, would have been a contributing variable to the lessening in the edge this time around, as longer crevices between attracts enable more contender to enter the pool.

Following the present draw, the aggregate number of ITAs issued since Express Entry was propelled in January, 2015 stands at 125,587. Of these, 60,742 have been issued so far this year; this is altogether more than the aggregate number issued in all of a year ago.

The difference in CRS cut-off threshold between August 2nd and the previous draw that took place on July 12th is just of 1 point. The latest Express Entry draw closing at one point higher than the previous one.

It is worth noting here that the gap of three weeks between these two draws has been longer than on numerous occasions previously.

This gave longer than usual time to candidates who are already in the pool to update their profile and increase their points total and more candidates entered the Express Entry pool than before.

3,264 Candidates Invited on August 2 Express Entry Draw

WWICS : The August 2nd Express Entry draw has happened after a gap of three weeks. A total of 3,264 candidates were picked up from the pool and were sent the Invitation to Apply (ITA). These people will now be in a position to apply for permanent residency of Canada.

The cut-off for the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score stood at 441 points. The invited candidates have now moved a step closer to become the permanent resident of Canada, along with their spouse or common-law-partner as well as dependent children.

It is expected that complete applications that are submitted will be processed by IRCC within the next six months.

This gap surely must have created an upward pressure on the cut-off threshold of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

When the gap between two Express Entry draws decreases, there is also a decrease in the cut-off threshold of the CRS.

The lowest cut-off threshold on CRS till now has been at 413 points.

The total number of ITAs that have been issued till now since the Express Entry system was first launched has reached to 122,596. Nearly, half of these ITAs have been issued in the current year 2017.

The reason for this increase is that Express Entry has become the main component for economic immigration to Canada.

July 12th Express Entry Draw Decreases CRS Cut-off Threshold

In the Express Entry draw that was held on July 12, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off went down to 440 points. This means that all the candidates in the Express Entry pool who scored 440 or more points in the CRS were issued the Invitation to Apply (ITA).

A total number of 3,202 candidates have been invited to apply for permanent residency of Canada.

There has been a decrease of nine points since the previous draw which was carried out on June 28th.

After changes were made tot he CRS last month, this is the second draw that has taken place since then.

After the changes, and as was mentioned by WWICS sometime back, a temporary rise in the CRS cut off threshold was expected. This is considering the fact that there has been an increase in score of some candidates who had siblings living in Canada and of those who had French proficiency.

There was another reason attributed to this temporary rise in cut-off of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and that is there has been a long gap between the draws that took place last month.

The cut-off threshold has been higher than the historic low of 413 points and beyond. Candidates who are already in the pool should not feel disheartened as the cut-off threshold in indeed decreased in the Express Entry draw that took place this time.

It should also be noted that slightly less Invitation to Apply (ITA) have been issued this time as compared to previous draw.

After the July 12th draw, a total number of 54,487 Invitation to Apply (ITA) have been issued till now for the year 2017. This number is much higher as compared to the whole of previous year.

According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Express Entry is clearly the main driver of the economic immigration to Canada.

Canada Ranks 2nd in Best Country for Immigrants to Live Finds US Study

Canada has been placed at the number 2 spot among the list of countries that are best for immigrants to live in. The number one spot has been taken by Sweden.

The report has been compiled by US News and World Report and it assessed 80 countries on the factors of their income equality, economic stability and labor markets for creating this list.

The ranking has been compiled after consulting with thousands of members of the public and business leaders.

In this latest list of the best countries to live in for immigrants, United States of American has been put at the seventh place, just behind Norway.

Sweden has pushed back Canada to take up the number 1 position, this study was carried out by the US News and World Report as part of an effort to find out the best countries in the world based on a number of social and economic attributes.

When it comes to overall ranking, the position of Canada remains the same, but Sweden slides down to the sixth position. This shows the strength of Canada across a wide range of assessment factors.
US News and World Report created the ranking on immigration after looking at the share of immigrants in a country's population, the amount of money that is sent abroad by these immigrants and the rankings of integration policies in various country by United Nations.

Canada scored high numbers not only in the field of healthy economy but also in the field of integration measures for immigrants, for example in language training.

When we consider the education factor, Canada takes up the first position. The report also states that the primary and secondary education is compulsory in Canada and it is available free.

The de-centralized federation of Canada enables provinces to provide a structured education system at the local level. Students who have studied in Canada score more than average for International Student Assessment on the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

A Brief Overview of Future Express Entry Draws

The Express Entry draws that have taken place in the recent months have shown a consistent trend. The first thing to notice here is that they have happened after every two weeks and that on Wednesday morning.

Looking at the past trend, candidates in the Express Entry pool might have expected another draw to happen on June 14th, 2017, as the last draw happened on May 31st, 2017.

Till the time of writing this article, no such draw had taken place. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has given an explanation for the delay in the Express Entry draw and candidates in the pool will encouraged to hear it.

IRCC made further improvements in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) on June 6th, 2017. It was announced that additional point will be given to candidates in the Express Entry pool who have a sibling in Canada, and also for candidates who have proficiency in French language.

At the time of making these changes, it was announced by IRCC that the CRS points scored by all the candidates in the pool will be updated automatically as per the new changes and before the next round of Express Entry draw takes place. This can take up to two weeks.

It is because of this reason there has been some delay in the Express Entry draw this time, as the CRS points of all the candidates are being updated in the pool. Candidates who are sure that their CRS points will increase as a result of the June 5 change, will have a better chance of being picked up in the next Express Entry draw.

Furthermore, it should be noted here that the recent changes that have taken place on June 6th, has not effected negatively any candidate that is there in the Express Entry pool.

It has been confirmed by IRCC that the profiles of candidates will be updated automatically that are already entered in the pool. In case a candidates has not disclosed the he or she has a sibling in Canada, or the results of a recognized French test, they are being encouraged to update their information so as to receive the additional points.

It is expected that the next Express Entry draw will happen anytime soon, as and when the update of all profiles has been completed by the IRCC.

"The world is getting a whole lot littler, and to enable Canada to contend, we have to open our ways to the best and the brightest, and enable Canadian business to get the best individual for the position," said Shoshana Green, accomplice at Toronto movement law office Green and Spiegel LLP.

Ms. Green has worked with various quickly developing Canadian firms hoping to import remote ability, just to come up against a cumbersome bureaucratic migration prepare that relied on demonstrating both that nobody else in Canada could carry out the occupation, and that the Canadian economy would profit by that outside contract's nearness. Those two components together made noteworthy slacks all the while, Ms. Green said. "Organizations need to know [quickly]: Can I acquire this individual or would I be able to not?"
